My astrology teachers and influences

I am grateful for the many astrologers who have come before me and influenced me on my path: my ancestors and teachers in this lineage and profession.

My gratitude to those living who have inspired my practice: Austin Coppock, Kaitlin Coppock, Dr. Ali A. Olomi, Kelly Surtees, Chris Brennan, Bernadette Brady, Eric Purdue, Pallas K. Augustine, Diana Rose, Jenn Zahrt, Nathaniel Hodder-Shipp, Amanda Moreno, Shawn Hatt Cohen, and of course my clients and students.

My gratitude to those departed, both ancient and near, who have inspired my practice as well. Our astrological lineage is strong and spans through the entirety of human history. There have been astrologers for as long as humans have been looking up at the stars and taking meaning from the movements of the sun, moon, and all the wandering planets.

My narrative astrological history and training (click to expand)

Like so many other astrologers who began their study in the early 2000s (as the revival of Ancient Astrology was just barely beginning), I first learned astrology from Shawn Hatt Cohen, a student of the “modern” humanistic astrologer Noel Tyl, taking a six month introductory course in 2003 as well as a few follow-up courses. I had been fascinated with astrology for many years before that and when I heard of a year-long deep dive into learning astrology in my hometown, I jumped at the chance.

After heading to college, I first tried my hand at starting an astrological consulting practice in 2011, which included attending my first NORWAC and taking on my first clients. At the end of 2011 I abandoned that practice to go back to school and attain my Master’s degree. I never gave up the thread of astrology, continuing my learning through the very first recordings of Austin Coppock’s Fundamentals of Astrology course in 2013 and continuing to learn, explore, and practice as much as possible in that time.

I came back to astrology in 2018, beginning to offer consultations, readings, and classes.
